This week's post is a little inspiration mixed with a DIY craft! For those of you who aren't spiritual, you may find that you can still get something valuable from all of this.
Going into the New Year I realized that I needed to be more diligent in prayer in regards to who I'm praying for and giving thanks. The great thing about prayer is that it looks different for everyone. Maybe prayer at the dinner table looks something like this for your family...

Or maybe your prayers involve pet unicorns...
If there's one thing I know about prayer, it's that it can be the most genuine and passionate thing you do in your life. There are so many people in your life and in the world around you who you can pray for.
To come up with a fun way to pray for people and things, I made a prayer box to keep in my purse! I saw something like it at Ron Jon's Surf Shop in Clearwater, Florida but figured it would be more fun to make myself!

The final product will look something like this!
1. I cut out a square sheet from the scrapbook paper and used tacky glue to attach it to the lid of the Altoids box.
2. Used hot glue to put my green fabric ribbon around the edge.
2. Used hot glue to put my green fabric ribbon around the edge.
3. Used hot glue to attach brown fabric ribbon around the bottom of the tin can for a beachy color scheme.
4. Add some flare to your box using hot glue & any fun decorations, then proceed to use your sharpies/paint pens to write "Prayer Box" on the front.
5. Though silver is SO in, line the inside with scrapbook paper on the bottom and the top. I used a little tacky glue to keep it in place.
6. Add an inspirational poem/phrase. Makes me smile whenever I open my box :)
7. Put your cut up pieces of paper and mini golf pencil inside. You are now ready to write down your prayers!
VOILA! Your very own, unique and marvelous prayer box. I hope you all enjoyed the craft + inspiration. If you don't think your life is ready for a prayer box, make a Happy Box- things, moments, people that make you happy each day. Sounds silly, but the littlest things can make the biggest difference.
Have a great week. Enjoy life's beauty. Give thanks for the simple things.
